Install.txt refers all the time to C:\PHP\ in module and CGI installation instructions.
This may lead to confusion. Especially in

Just add the
  following lines to your httpd.conf:

   LoadModule php4_module c:/php/sapi/php4apache.dll
   AddModule mod_php4.c
   AddType application/x-httpd-php .php
---------

As system root is done as %SYSTEMROOT% why not %INSTALLPATH% as well?

%SYSTEMROOT% is defined by the system and %INSTALLPATH% isn't.
