I've configured php to be installed at /opt/php-4.3
after installation, I noticed that /opt/php-4.3/bin/pear was group/other writable.

Verified with the latest. (Linux and BSD).

Thank you for your bug report. This issue has already been fixed
in the latest released version of PHP, which you can download at 
http://www.php.net/downloads.php

this problem was due a umask-bug in PEAR/Config.php.
It's fixed in the current PEAR version 1.0
