./configure --enable-versioning uses -export-sybmols in the ld command, this is not supported under osx and should be disabled in the configure script.

I sent Marko a patch on this (I think) and he said he'd double check my work today sometime.  Hopefully this can be fit into the 4.3 RC schedule.
