errors with using -r and -shared with ld simultaneously...simple attempts to remove them failed. apxs config also failed...but it failed with beta1 also, and may be an apache 1.3.6 w/ fBSD4.0 problem. php4beta1 compiled as shared module okay though on same system.

Apache 1.3.6 doesn't know about fbsd 4.0. Wait for the next release.
