Hi !

I am new in php so I downloaded the pdf version of your manual. But it won't open. The report says file does not begin with %PDF. Any solutions ?

You should decompress it with bzip2. See http://www.php.net/manual/en/faq.misc.php#faq.misc.bz2 for more information.
Please note that, as stated on php.net/download-docs, due to technical problems, the PDF-manual is not complete. You probably want the CHM manual or the HTML manual.
