I am using php 4.2.3 with httpd 2.0.43.
The functions file_exists, is_file and file_size doesn't work at all.
file_exists("file.txt"); gives me "false" even if the file "file.txt" exists in the same directory of the script containing that function.
If I use the full path of "file.txt", file_exists("/full/path/to/file.txt"); gives me "true" and works well.

How to solve this problem? I can't use the full path in the scripts.

as to my experiance file_exists uses the current working directory [getcwd()] for relative path's and not the directory the script is in.

tested in v5.1.4 and 5.2-dev (26-Jun-2006 16:19)
