Sorry 4 my english...

When I try to use the "file_exists" function with php 4.2.3 and Apache 2.0.40, it ALWAYS returns FALSE, even if the file/directory that I'm checking exists.
I think it's unuseful to say that the function works well with Apache 1.3.26

This bug has been fixed in CVS.

In case this was a PHP problem, snapshots of the sources are packaged
every three hours; this change will be in the next snapshot. You can
grab the snapshot at http://snaps.php.net/.
 
In case this was a documentation problem, the fix will show up soon at
http://www.php.net/manual/.

In case this was a PHP.net website problem, the change will show
up on the PHP.net site and on the mirror sites in short time.

Please check previously resolved bug reports before openning new ones. There were @least 4 identical reports about this bug.

I'm sorry for the multiple reporting, but in the advanced 
search windows I didn't choose the "all" status, so I 
didn't find the various others error reporting.

So, "SORRY SORRY SORRY"!!!!
