Everything compiles okay, but failes when a link is attempted with pages, and pages of errors. The command line is './configure --with-xml --with-apxs=/usr/sbin/apxs --with-mysql'

(tried without --with-mysql, and without =/usr/sbin/apxs even ./configure alone, and still got the following error at link time...)

This bug has been fixed in CVS. You can grab a snapshot of the
CVS version at http://snaps.php.net/. In case this was a documentation 
problem, the fix will show up soon at http://www.php.net/manual/.
In case this was a PHP.net website problem, the change will show
up on the PHP.net site and on the mirror sites.
Thank you for the report, and for helping us make PHP better.

Please note that PHP 4.2.2 does NOT support OSX.  The next 4.x release will though.  So test out a snapshot :)

How do we fix the security issues with 4.0, and 4.1 then?
