The fread() function can not read the
complete content of the binary file, such
as an PDF file if it is more than 100k.
It happens if the system is using IIS and
PHP Isapi. 
If will work fine if it is using
IIS and PHP in CGI mode.

I guess you have opened it in "rb" mode? (just want to be sure about that..)

I used "r" mode only. Maybe that's why.

You have to use 'rb' if you're dealing with binary files under windows.
