It seems to not like the relative path. I can use:
<?php 
	$page="search";
	include("/includes/header.php");
?>
OR
<?php 
	$page="search";
	include("header.php");
?>

But the traversing back via relative path is not working I tried a CVS from 2 days ago but that CVS didn't work at all.

Any suggestions? It would be really great to get this working again.

Any information on the status of this? I would like something to give back to my developers other than "It doesn't work" 8)

The bug does not appear in latest CVS, at least not on WinXP.

This bug has been fixed in CVS.

In case this was a PHP problem, snapshots of the sources are packaged
every three hours; this change will be in the next snapshot. You can
grab the snapshot at http://snaps.php.net/.
 
In case this was a documentation problem, the fix will show up soon at
http://www.php.net/manual/.

In case this was a PHP.net website problem, the change will show
up on the PHP.net site and on the mirror sites in short time.
