Weird problem.

I've been using ErrorDocument 401 in Apache to redirect users when they type in an incorrect username/password.
As soon as upgraded to PHP 4, I would always get an incorrect username/password message without the popup box ever displaying.  As soon as I removed the ErrorDocument, the popup box returned and usage was back to normal.

Ideas?

Apache manual says:

If the ErrorDocument specifies a local redirect to a CGI script, the script should include a "Status:" header field in its output in order to ensure the
propagation all the way back to the client of the error condition that caused it to be invoked.
