PLEASE release a PATCH for the latest release that will compile PROPERLY (unlike CVS) that is compatible with Apache 2.0.39. The CVS version will not compile. Is there a patch for the latest release that can add compatibility with Apache 2.0.39 without causing compile problems?

PHP is awesome, and so is Apache! You guys are great. I am quite surprised that there is not a fix/patch for Apache compatibility on the heels of such a serious security exploit. We are faced with a choice between security and
PHP!

Please provide the errors you get by compiling the latest CVS version of PHP with apache 2.

The CVS version compiles fine. And PHP does not officially support Apache 2 yet. There is no choice between security and PHP here. PHP compiles fine with Apache 1.3.26 which is the production-quality stable release of Apache.

This bug has been fixed in CVS.

In case this was a PHP problem, snapshots of the sources are packaged
every three hours; this change will be in the next snapshot. You can
grab the snapshot at http://snaps.php.net/.

In case this was a documentation problem, the fix will show up soon at
http://www.php.net/manual/.

In case this was a PHP.net website problem, the change will show
up on the PHP.net site and on the mirror sites in short time.

Thank you for the report, and for helping us make PHP better.
