The configure script fails to define HAVE_SYS_RESOURCE_H
despite the fact that this file clearly exists in /usr/include/sys and a test program that includes it compiles without errors (but 1 warning is generated).

What is your compiler version? (gcc --version)
And what was the configure line?
Does plain './configure' work?
