We attemted to run 3.0.11 but the regex parts of our code which had been stable for some months started causing a lot of hard to trace errors ( blank HTMLpages for example). simply deleting the regex code produced a program that removed the sysmptoms but did not work. The problem seemed to be in eregi_replace

The sysadmin then decided to revert to 3.0.9 which worked.

We have an oracle database. I can connect to it and interrogate it via sqlplus but the statements

$conn=ora_logon($username,$password);
$conn=OCIlogon($username,$password) did not work.

Permutations of the arguments such as 
$username@tnsname,$password

 or 

$username@tnsname/$password

and swapping arguments round did nothing.

Errors varies from "ORACLE NOT AVAILABLE" through
"TNS failed to resolve service name to
"Fatal 2-task protocol communications error"

Our local oracle expert ( who set up the DB) says we should not need ORACLE_SID as the database is not on the machine that hosts the webserver.

That's all the information I can give you. Thereis no php3.ini file and I cannot give you the configure line.
