The -g option is passed by default to the compiler even if --enable-debug is NOT used. Using --disable-debug is of no help[ either.

Compiling PHP against Apache 2.0. as follows

./configure --with-apxs2=/opt/apache2/bin/apxs \
            --prefix=/opt/apache2/php
make

When performing make , every compilation command has -g
The following doesnt help either.

./configure --with-apxs2=/opt/apache2/bin/apxs \
            --prefix=/opt/apache2/php \
            --diable-debug
make

Does this happen only when compiling with Apache2 ?

I thought someone changed default for easier bug reporting.
(I'm not sure)

I see -g always with Aapche/Aapche2/CGI under my Linux.

Thank you for taking the time to write to us, but this is not
a bug. Please double-check the documentation available at
http://www.php.net/manual/ and the instructions on how to report
a bug at http://bugs.php.net/how-to-report.php
