rmdir('/blah/test_dir'); 
fails to delete the directory and returns TRUE.

rmdir('/blah/test_dir/'); 
Works fine, deletes the directory and returns TRUE

i can't reproduce this with PHP 4.2.1 as CLI 
on Linux/2.4.16 ... can you please re-check?

Just tested this situation with PHP 4.2.1 and this indeed appears to have been fixed.
