I request that there be an associative array variable for each function that references the local name space of that function, similar to how the $GLOBALS variable works but endemic only to that function.

Suggestions for possible names for this variable:
$FUNCTION
$_FUNCTION
$LOCAL
$_LOCAL

i.e.

function test(){
  $_FUNCTION['abc'] = 'Hello';
  echo $abc;
}

My reason for requesting this is so that I can have global functions

function test(){
  $_FUNCTION = &$GLOBALS;
)
