There does not appear to be any way to check if the server is running as a cgi or apache module.

The only option I could find is capturing and parsing the output of phpinfo which is far from optminal.

I am requesting a feature that returns the api used for use in if statments and such to determine program flow (as some features only work on one of theses, or work differently)
