Sorry having the some problem 
this is the error I get when trying to start apache

Cannot load /usr/lib/libphp4.so into server : /usr/lib/apache/libphp4.so
: undefined symbol : ap_block_alarms


I Have try running 
./configure --help | grep apxs2
This is what I get from this command 
-with-apxs2[=FILE]     Build shared Apache 2.0 module. FILE is the optional
