I was able to recreate the problem with PHP3.0.7 and Apache 1.3.6

I found a work-around:

I access as PostgreSQL-DBMS.

At the end of the script i use
pg_close($conn_id);

Comment this out, and the page is fully returned.
Seems to me, this is an performance problem with SMP?

I use a Dual-P90 with 128MB RAM..

Seems more likely a PosgreSQL support problem.

Reclassifying the bug.

We need a sample script.

One thing to double-check is that you're not getting an
error that truncates the page -- if you're using Netscape,
it doesn't render partial tables, so the error could end
up being hidden.

Also, if the server is dumping core, a backtrace would
be helpful. See http://bugs.php.net/bugs-generating-backtrace.php3
for instructions.
