Almost same problem that bug ID #10941 
but it is not resolved for me in 4.0.6,
even with latest snapshot : 200110050900

You should have problem with /lib/libresolve.so.2
It compiles fine with my linux.
Reinstall libresolve. If you still have problem reopen this bug report again.

I have the same problem. I installed the new Redhat RPMs for glibc (glibc-2.1.3-23), but nothing helped.
I am using Redhat 6.2

I hope someone has a solution for this.
