I was wondering what the plan of attack was for these two items, the PEAR::db set of files and the dbx extension. Both of these appear to be trying to accomplish the same task of abstracting database connections. I am looking to convert my code to a more uniformally conformed abstraction layer (it currently is using a custom-written one) and I was wondering if these two items were going to merge at some point in the future and/or if their syntaxes were somewhat stable? Thanks.

sorry in advance if this is the wrong place to post this.
