php pages work OK for some time, but after a while (from 1-2 hours to 1-2 days) i can get onyl zero sized replies from all kind of php pages. Restarting apache helps in this case.

apache is 1.3.9-18
and
configure --with-apxs=/usr/sbin/apxs --with-ftp --with-gd=/usr --with-png-dir=/usr --with-mysql --with-hyperwave --with-dbase --with-filepro --enable-debug --enable-track-vars --enable-magic-quotes --enable-force-cgi-redirect --enable-discard-path --enable-memory-limit --disable-url-fopen-wrapper --enable-sysvsem --enable-sysvshm --with-zlib

The patch found at:
http://www.php.net/distributions/php-4.0.6-memlimit.diff.gz

should fix this.

I have the same problem with PHP 4.1.2 + Apache 1.3.27 on Solaris 8.

PHP was configured as following:

--with-oci8 --with-gd --with-mcrypt --enable-track-vars
--without-mysql --with-mod_charset
