Couldn't connect to MySQL

Mysql server is up and running, I can connect to it with shell command.

This should be fixed with PHP 4.0.6, please try the 
latest release candidate:

Hi, 
I have the similar problem.
The diference is that is a remote connection.

Warning: Can't connect to MySQL server on <ip_of_mysql_server>(110) 

If you resolve please help me too.
