The recent release of libxml2 v 2.2.10 causes some problems when compiling PHP with xmldom support (option --with-dom). Seems like they have deprecated XML_GLOBAL_NAMESPACE.

From tree.h in libxml2 v2.2.10
* XML_GLOBAL_NAMESPACE is now deprecated for good

This is already fixed in CVS. You can try latest
snapshot from http://snaps.php.net/ or wait for 
PHP 4.0.4 to be released.
