If I want to read out a datefield of MSSQL7, the script won't stop is the fieldtype is "smalldatetime" and is retrieving the first 4 chars of the date.... in english format (d mmm). If I request another php page (and didn't aborted the loading), the IIS4 freezes and won't answering anymore requests.

if the fieldtype is "datetime", it will retrieve the first 8 characters, i.e. if the DB field contains 1978-06-15, it will retrieve "15 Jun 1" and nothing more.

plz help me, I lost DAYS in examining this problem... and still without success.

I read the field via normal mssql_result or by fetching the row.. no matter the same result :-(

my environment:
a standart php4.0.2 w32 installation with, mssql7 support enabled, IIS4, MSSQL7 SP2, winNT 4 SP 6a
