I am running (RedHat) Linux 2.0.36.

I am running apache 1.3.12 configured with:

./configure --prefix=/usr/local/test-apache \
         --enable-module=all \
         --enable-rule=EAPI=yes \
         --disable-module=ssl \
         --activate-module=src/modules/php4/libphp4.a

PHP4.0.1pl1 configured with:

./configure --with-mysql=/Developer/Database/mysql  --with-apache=../apache_1.3.12 --enable-track-vars --with-config-file-path=/usr/local/test-apache/conf  --enable-trans-sid

I get these sorts of messages in the apache error log (when not run in gdb):

[Wed Oct 18 16:38:39 2000] [notice] child pid 17013 exit signal Segmentation fault (11)
[Wed Oct 18 16:38:46 2000] [notice] child pid 17014 exit signal Segmentation fault (11)
[Wed Oct 18 16:38:47 2000] [notice] child pid 17015 exit signal Segmentation fault (11)
[Wed Oct 18 16:38:51 2000] [notice] child pid 17016 exit signal Segmentation fault (11)
[Wed Oct 18 16:38:52 2000] [notice] child pid 17017 exit signal Segmentation fault (11)
[Wed Oct 18 16:38:54 2000] [notice] child pid 17018 exit signal Segmentation fault (11)
[Wed Oct 18 16:38:55 2000] [notice] child pid 17019 exit signal Segmentation fault (11)

[Wed Oct 18 16:38:59 2000] [notice] child pid 17022 exit signal Segmentation fault (11)
[Wed Oct 18 16:38:59 2000] [notice] child pid 17021 exit signal Segmentation fault (11)

I get this backtrace from gdb when run with '-X -f /usr/local/test-apache/conf/httpd.conf':

  I am running the following script:

<HTML>
<HEAD>
</HEAD>

<BODY BGCOLOR="Black" topmargin='0' leftmargin='0' marginheight='0' marginwidth='0' TEXT="#CC6633" LINK="#FF0
000" VLINK="#FF6633" ALINK="#FF6633">

<BR>

    <FONT FACE="ARIAL,HELVETICA,SANS-SERIF"><? echo date('m-d-Y T'); ?></FONT>

<BR>

</BODY>
</HTML>

 Pretty basic script. Shouldn't CRASH httpd children right?!

P.S. I had crashes with 4.0.2, 4.0.3 and 4.0.3pl1 as well. I reverted back to 4.0.1pl2 and the crashes happened less often. That is when I
broke down and ran gdb on the setup. It crashes pretty consistently now every 2-3rd time the script is called.
When I reloaded the script 25 times, I got 12 seg faults in the error_log.
E_ALL error logging is turned on and I get no warnings or anything in the php error log.

Is my simple PHP script the (valid) cause of this? Any help appreciated:)

Could you please try latest snapshot from http://snaps.php.net/ to verify this is still happening
and if it is, to provide current backtrace ?

No feedback. And I can't reproduce this with PHP 4.0.4
