1. Name of PHP module is different in apache/src/modules.c (modphp4_module) and apache/src/modules/php4/libphp4.module (php4_module)
2. Include dirs with php.h, zend.h etc have to be present in apache/src/modules/php4/Makefile

Version of Apache is 1.3.14rusPL30.0
Config line for PHP is:
./configure --with-mod_charset --with-gettext --with-apache=../apache_1.3.14rusPL30.0 --without-mysql --enable-track-vars --with-gettext --enable-static --disa

Have you read the INSTALL file included in the source
package? And did you follow the install steps??

And could you please try the PHP 4.0.4RC3:

http://www.php.net/distributions/php-4.0.4RC3.tar.gz

Please read the INSTALL file. If that doesn't help,
ask further questions on php-install@lists.php.net
as this is working for me (and many others) just
fine..as long as you follow the instructions.
