There is no documentation what the default filter FILTER_DEFAULT does, nor is it mentioned on the referenced list of available filters.

According to the source, it's defined to be equal to FILTER_UNSAFE_RAW:

To avoid confusion, perhaps the documentation should use the actual filter name that will be applied by default.

This bug has been fixed in the documentation's XML sources. Since the
online and downloadable versions of the documentation need some time
to get updated, we would like to ask you to be a bit patient.
