Test script:
---------------
1. install pear and dev tools

sudo apt-get install php-pear php5-dev

2. sudo pecl install uploadprogress

3. - install fails

Expected result:

This package has not had any releases for 6 years, so I'm gonna suspend it, any new maintainer that decides to pick this up can re-open this ticket.

I know this is an old issue, but please try installing version 1.1.2 of uploadprogress. It includes a number of bugfixes that should allow you to install and use it on any version of PHP from 5.2 through 8.0+.
