I was looking for the same functionality in "array_multisort" as in "sort" but thought it didn't exist until I found the references linked below and confirmed that it worked. Updating the docs to reflect the extended functionality might be helpful to others.

This bug has been fixed in the documentation's XML sources. Since the
online and downloadable versions of the documentation need some time
to get updated, we would like to ask you to be a bit patient.
