From manual page: http://www.php.net/domdocument.getelementbyid#refsect1-domdocument.getelementbyid-examples
---

Since the contents of book.xml is not shown, we don't learn anything from the example.

I can understand that the example is not self-contained here, in that you
couldn't easily test the example code to see the result without supplying your
own XML. I can also understand that it stems from the
DOMDocument::getElementsByTagName() where the XML is indeed given in the example
code.

I'll update the example here to reflect on the XML used in the other related
method thereby making it self-contained as well.

Thanks for you feedback.

Log: Added new book.xml example for use throughout DOM documentation examples. Used example in DOMDocument::getElementById(), which fixes Bug #62118

This bug has been fixed in the documentation's XML sources. Since the
online and downloadable versions of the documentation need some time
to get updated, we would like to ask you to be a bit patient.

Thank you for the report, and for helping us make our documentation better.
