PHP3 builds and installs correctly, but apache gets down w/ the following error: (got this w/ a strace)

munmap(0x2acd7000, 22681) = 0
open("./php3.ini", O_RDONLY) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
open("/php3.ini", O_RDONLY) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
open("/var/lib/apache/conf/php3.ini", O_RDONLY) = 4
ioctl(4, TCGETS, 0x7fffc6ec) = -1 ENOTTY (Inappropriate ioctl for device)
read(4, "[PHP_3]\n\n;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;\n; A"..., 8192) = 8192
read(4, ".defaultlrl\t=\t4096\t; Handling of"..., 8192) = 4630
read(4, "", 3562) = 0

I can't use gdb, cause httpd forks w/ success, and gdb returns me no errors. I know that is a problem w/ MySQL, 'cause if i compile PHP3 w/out MySQL support, the module works fine.

The system is a fresh Slack7.1 plus:
- OpenLDAP 1.2.11
- UCD-SNMP 4.1.2
- OpenSSL-0.9.5a
- IMAP from Pine 4.21
- GD 1.8.3
- Apache-1.3.12
- PHP-3.0.1[3-6] (no one works w/ MySQL support -- all other features works)
- MySQL-3.22.[27,30,32]

All was compiled in this machine, and this is my ./do-conf:

./configure --with-apxs=/var/lib/apache/sbin/apxs \
                --with-shared-apache=/var/lib/apache \
                --with-apache=/var/lib/apache \
                --with-config-file-path=/var/lib/apache/conf \
                --with-exec-dir=/var/lib/apache/htdocs \
                --with-mod-dav=/var/lib/apache \
                --with-ldap=/usr \
                --with-imap=/tmp/pine4.21/imap \
                --with-mysql=/usr \
                --with-freetype \
                --with-dbase \
                --with-filepro \
                --with-zlib \
                --with-ftp \
                --with-openssl \
                --with-snmp \
                --with-xml \
                --with-yp \
                --with-db2 \
                --with-gdbm \
                --with-gd \
                --with-jpeg-dir \
                --with-tiff-dir \
                --with-gettext \
                --with-system-regex \
                --enable-ucd-snmp-hack \
                --enable-sysvshm \
                --enable-sysvsem \
                --enable-memory-limit \
                --enable-discard-path \
                --disable-debug

This is because you are using a MySQL client library linked against pthreads.
Compile the mysql client libs from source and use those instead.
Your configure line is also all messed up. You can only use one of --with-apxs and --with-apache. Don't use both. And --with-shared-apache has been deprecated so don't use that at all.
