It might be a good idea to change the name/prefix of the package.

I had a 'Date' class of my own, since the name is not taken and PEAR has one as well if I'm not mistaken. I assume that a lot of folks out there will have similar cases.

For now I commented out the code the registers the object in the module init function. Maybe you can add an .ini entry to determine weather or not to register the class or not.
