I can no longer build the PostgreSQL extension after the changes made in ext/pgsql/pgsql.c version 1.62. The diff adds support for client encoding. The autoconf rule checks for the existence of PQclientEncoding to determine of support for client encoding should be included. That function exists in my version of libpq.a. However, in PHP_FUNCTION(pg_clientencoding), there's a reference to pg_encoding_to_char, which is not a valid symbol in my libpq.a. This causes the linker to die when building Apache.

Fixed in cvs. (As a side result, client encoding functions are compiled into
PostgreSQL module only if PostgreSQL itself was compiled with multibyte support
and those functions would do something meaningful.)
