The following code:

<?php

        mysql_connect('localhost', 'pegsoft', 'xxxx');
        mysql_select_db('pegdns');

        mysql_query('INSERT INTO users (id, password, email, created) VALUES (NULL, "blabla",
"test@pegirc.com",NULL)');

        mysql_close();

?>

produces the following warning:

Warning: MySQL: Unable to save result set in /usr/web/pegsoft/pegdns/test.php on line 7

and the function fails.

I have tried the same code on the same machine with PHP 3.0.16 and it worked fine (the entry was created with no warning).

I've compiled both PHP 3.0.16 and PHP 4.0.1pl2 with configure options ----with-apxs=/home/httpd/bin/apxs \
                                --enable-versioning \
                                --with-mysql \
                                --enable-track-vars

Please provide the version of mysql you used, and whether
or not you installed mysql from source or other means.

Also, when compiling in mysql support into php, and where there are other applications using mysql (php3), you should
always provide the path to mysql in your php4
./configure line.
