Description:
------------
Visting http://us3.php.net/manual/en/function.simplexml-load-string.php causes the page to load up to part of the first example (Interpret an XML string). The example code is shown, but the page ends with "The above example will output:". The actual output of the code is not shown. In fact, the HTML document is never completely loaded (no closing BODY tag or HTML tag, and many other layout elements are unclosed).

This problem occurs in all browsers. So it is not an issue of Firefox or IE or Opera, and I believe it must be a problem with the site.

Joey mentioned on IRC last night (well, this morning, US time) that he
was having similar problems with pages being truncated on us3, so it
does appear to be an issue with the mirror.

works fine for me

@aharvey,
Yea, I just realized that if I replace "us3" with "us2" it works fine and everything loads immediately. So I guess that's an easy workaround for now.

@Niel,
Are you using the us3.php.net link? And what do you see under the "The above example will output:" line? I just reloaded the page, and it's still doing the same thing. It gets to that point and then the page stops loading--the status bar still says "Waiting for us3.php.net..." for another minute or two, but no more data gets sent from the server.

Are *.php.net subdomains routed to different mirrors depending on your geographical location? Because I'm in the U.S. (west coast).

For what it's worth, even when a couple of people were having issues
last night, I couldn't reproduce it, so whatever it is, it doesn't
seem to bite everyone.

At any rate, I've posted a note about this on the Webmaster mailing
list, so hopefully it'll be sorted out soon.

I don't think we do any particularly clever DNS-level geolocation,
but our systems team would know for sure.

I haven't yet read the email you sent to the list, but I'll get it sorted out during the day.

@calvin I used the link in the bug's description, so I assume it was the correct URL.

What I see under the "The above example will output:" line is the rest of the page. Output, "See also", and "Notes" sections.
