Description:
------------
The "mode" letters defy any logic. For example, why not "rw" instead of "r+" for _r_eading/_w_riting?

Reproduce code:
---------------
---
From manual page: function.fopen
---

I suppose if you have not had experience with any other language, they
might seem illogical, but trust me, we didn't make these up. These are
the standard modes fopen takes in most languages, including the native
C where it originated. Changing them would confuse a lot of people.
