A standard apt-get'ed php + apache2 hangs on session_start() if there is any session.

Reproduce code:
---------------
<?php

//Start session
session_start();

echo 'Hello world';

?>

Expected result:
----------------
Page does not stop loading

Actual result:
--------------
Hello world
