On every parse error message or warnings, the line number is always 1. 
So it's not easy to find the bug. Perhaps it's a misbehaving of one
php.ini option. here is my section:
error_reporting =       E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE               ; Show all errors except for notices

This error I had in PHP RC1 too
