When linking PHP 3.0 final into apache 1.2.5 Under RH 5.0 
I get undefined referances to the following symbols

res_search
__dn_skipname
dn_expand

Add -lresolv to your LIBS line.  Upgrading to Apache-1.3.0 will also solve this since the entire build process is automated.
