Description: ------------ I am cross compiling V5.2.1 for the ARM using gcc 4.1.2 on a SuSE linux 10.2 host. The compile proceeds normally except that it attempts to run tests but these fail as it is a cross compile and so the compile stops. I can get around it by removing the 'exit 1;' from the configure script but it would be better if the script worked directly in this case. I did not have the same problem when I compiled 5.2.0 in the same way! Is there a way of switching off the tests when cross compiling? Reproduce code: --------------- Problem code in configure - there are others as well! echo $ac_n "checking for working ttyname_r() implementation""... $ac_c" 1>&6 echo "configure:78868: checking for working ttyname_r() implementation" >&5 if test "$cross_compiling" = yes; then { echo "configure: error: can not run test program while cross compiling" 1>&2; exit 1; } else Expected result: ---------------- Successful compile and maybe a warning if tests are not able to be done Actual result: -------------- checking for working ttyname_r() implementation... configure: error: can not run test program while cross compiling
