Description:
------------
On the main page, Z?rich and Gie?en are encoded in ISO8859-1, Qu?bec in UTF-8 (? as 0xC3A9). Also, at least in the finnish documentation main page, ? is sometimes encoded as 0xC3A4 (correct UTF-8), sometimes as 0xEFBFBD. Swedish and greek documentation also show same kind of problems.

With the Finnish documentation there are several hundred encoding problems of that kind. One problem is that both ä and ö are encoded with the same UTF-8 code or whatever and therefore the translation syntax should be checked and bugs should be fixed one by one.

Browser: Firefox 1.5.0.4 (but I have seen this problem
for many months)
Locale: el_GR.UTF-8

I see the strange behavior of the manual pages for greek; some of the headers display weirdly, as though they live in a database which has some text not properly converted to 2-byte utf-8 characters from old 1-byte iso-8859-7.

An example: I see on page
http://us2.php.net/manual/el/index.php
the header
????????? ???
when I should see nicely converted
Επιμέλεια από

And later in the same page I do see proper text, about 2 lines down where it lists folks who translated the PHP man pages. If needed, I can give a screenshot...

Now we'll see whether the comment submissions do well with utf-8 :-)

This bug has been fixed in the documentation's XML sources. Since the
online and downloadable versions of the documentation need some time
to get updated, we would like to ask you to be a bit patient.

Thank you for the report, and for helping us make our documentation better.
