Description:
------------
At http://us2.php.net/pcre it says "Since PHP 4.0.4, you can also use Perl-style (), {}, [], and <> matching delimiters....Beginning with PHP 4.2.0 these functions are enabled by default."

It sounds like Perl-style matching delimiters are available in PHP 4.0.4, but might not be enabled by default, and it doesn't say how to enable them.

"For older versions you have to configure and compile PHP with --with-pcre-regex[=DIR] in order to use these functions."
