Doing a make install caused the error below, so I installed everything except pear, then ran the following but it still would not work.

[root php4-STABLE-200511051406]# make install-pear
Installing PEAR environment:      /usr/lib/php/

Fatal error: Call to undefined function:  getversion() in /root/php4-STABLE-200511051406/pear/install-pear.php on line 118
make[1]: *** [install-pear-installer] Error 255
make: *** [install-pear] Error 2

This bug has been fixed in CVS.

Snapshots of the sources are packaged every three hours; this change
will be in the next snapshot. You can grab the snapshot at
