Description: ------------ The DBF package used by the ext/dbase extension is considered non-free according to Debian's distribution policies, quite likely because the license is limited to non-commercial use. Is the PHP dev't team aware of the issue, and are there any plans to switch to a more free xbase package? Or maybe the author coould be contacted to ask if he would be willing to open up the license to remove the non-commercial limitation? Here is the full license text of the DBF package: DBF - xbase manipulation package Copyright (c) Brad Eacker, 1991, 1992, 1993 Permission is granted to distribute and use the source, documentation files and/or compiled binaries associated with dbf for non-commercial use.
