Description:
------------
I have been having trouble getting a subscription working on the mailing lists. I have been trying for 4 days. Half the time I do not get a response at all. The other half I get a message asking to confirm my subscription. I have done everything from simply replying to the message to trying to compose the reply message. This too has been buggy. When the confirmation does appear to go through, I get a second message from an automoderator asking to prove that I am a person. When I respond to this message, I get nothing.

I have used Outlook 2003, and a webmailer provided by my webhost to get this to work. I've used both Fedora core 1 and Windows XP with the webmailer.

**Note, just as I was about to submit this, I was finally able to connect. I'm still submitting this bug because there appears to be something amiss with the mailing lists.

Expected result:
----------------
I expect to get subscribed to the mailing lists

Actual result:
--------------
I am not able to get connected

Mailing lists or news server?
[2005-06-13 17:02 UTC] php at swimwebs dot com
Mailing lists. I was able to view the news server yesterday (6/12/2005) but did not try to post to it at that time.

Which mailing list?
Which email address are you using?
Please forward me the details (wez@php.net)

I was trying to subscribe to the general and db mailing lists using php@swimwebs.com. Just as I was submitting this bug, my subscription to both the general and db lists were successful. I did not try to subscribe to the db list today. I believe I did that on Friday (three days ago) or Saturday. I attempted to subscribe to the php general list every day since at least Thursday (except on Sunday).

I saw a few other indications on the news group yesterday that others were having problems and at least one other bug reporting the same problem that had it's status set to bogus so I decided to submit this again to bring the delay and unresponsive mailing list server to your attention.

Turned out that the body of the confirmation email referred to an old address that no longer exists. This would only be a problem for people that composed a new email instead of simply replying to the original confirmation mail.
