Description:

my knowledge in the exact manner of these functions is lacking.

however, in the documentation, all of the mysql_fetch_* functions fail to mention that a call to it moves the internal data pointer ahead once and returns false if the internal pointer is pointing to a nonexistent row. this is what allows while($row = mysql_fetch_*($res)) to work.

thank you,
rob

"Returns ... that corresponds to the fetched row and moves the internal data pointer ahead." by all four functions.
Returning false is already mentioned.

where do you get that from?

on all the english docs i see:
"Returns ... that corresponds to the fetched row, or FALSE if there are no more rows."

This bug has been fixed in the documentation's XML sources. Since the
online and downloadable versions of the documentation need some time
to get updated, we would like to ask you to be a bit patient.

Thank you for the report, and for helping us make our documentation better.

Sorry, I put it to the wrong Status.
