Create two files:

test.php3 contains:
<?

$max = 511;
for ($t = 1 ; $t <= $max ; $t++) print "A";

?>

caller.php3 contains:
<?

$infile = fopen("http://127.0.0.1/test.php3","r");
while (!feof($infile)) $response .= fgets($infile,255);
fclose($infile);

print $response;

?>

Run it as is and you get a line of A's. If you increase $max, the call hangs.

Unfortunately, PHP 3 is no longer supported. Please download
the latest version of PHP 4 from http://www.php.net/downloads.php

If you are able to reproduce the bug with one of the latest
versions of PHP, please change the PHP version on this bug report
to the version you tested and change the status back to "Open".
