filetype() doesn't return correct type for symlink, it instead returns the type of file it pointed to, or false if it is a dangling symlink...

other file functions are also affected, such as fileinode(), file_exists()

configure options: --with-apache --with-mysql --enable-track-vars

currently works for symlinks (returning 'link') as long as
file pointed to exists
as this is already the topic of another report i close this one
